Where has the time gone?

Since my last post a million things has happened. Four Birthdays (Braxton, Caleb, Jessica, & Trajan). So I guess I will tell of some of the highlights!

Scout was a dog we had for a time, she was very anxious if dogs could be diagnosed with ADHD she definetly had it, but her energy was fun and just like some of the boys. She ran out the door one day when Jessica got home with groceries and chased a truck and she caught it allright both rear tires! Read jessica's blog for the whole story, but she was in bad shape. We helped, loved and did all for her for a month, and in a period of a few days she went from almost healed to her death bed! She died on June 19th and it was a sad day, I spent the last hours of her life by her side with Jess. I knew I had work and other things the next day so I went to sleep on the couch! I was awakened a little later by Jess who said she had died! I was sick to my stomach and sad I couldn't have been there in the last minutes. I guess I am just thankful for the times I had with her and the joy she brought to me and my family!

Braxton turned 6 and he is doing so good, he has adjusted well and he is making strides in school and he finished the school year better than i was hoping. I feel now he will do great in 1st grade. Caleb is 5 going on 20, He is Chief a nickname that has stuck with him for a long time, he is very busy and very snoopy to say the least but he is so cute and I have tons of fun with him. Trajan is 10 and I can't believe it! I'm not old enough to have a 10 year old am I? I'm still a kid myself! Jacksen is doing well, he is very smart and he is quite a reader, he can read pretty much anything. Jess is doing well her posts on scrappy pants are awesome and very heart felt. I love her so much and we will celebrate 13 years on Sept 13th this year. I can't believe it?

Now you know the where the time has gone! it flies by and goes so fast!
Later
Mitchy the kid!

A Tribute to a Man who was a friend to me!

When I heard that Kenny Goulding had died, I was sad to hear this, he was a friend to me. He was a friend throughout my life. One of my first memories was riding in a Swather with him cutting hay, my Mom said I used to fall asleep in the cab with him, I don't remember ever doing that. When I was 9 or 10 I named a Kitten "Kenny Goulding", it was Black. I had that cat for a few years. I thought it was pretty cool to tell everyone that the name of my cat was Kenny Goulding. I remember basketball games that he was there and he seemed to always sit on the stage by my Grandpa Joe. When I first met Joanne she would always sit behind the team bench and as 12 or 13 year old I would always say hi. I think I even bummed money for a treat. I think she got used to that because she always had a dollar handy when I would come around. I miss her still, she was a good lady and a good friend. When Kenny sang in the Country Bumpkins Band I would take Joanne and dance with her. She taught me how to dance a little bit. As to Kenny I will miss those hay cutting days and the basketball games.

Kenneth (Kenny) Edwin Goulding, Jr. slipped quietly and peacefully away on November 15, 2008, due to complications with ongoing health concerns. Kenny was born on August 31, 1936, to Kenneth Edwin and Elsie Quilter Middleton Goulding. He was a lifelong resident of Henrieville, Utah, where he learned the trade of ranching and farming while working long days side by side with his father. Kenny loved and valued every moment of this lifestyle. Kenny was looked up to by siblings and friends a like, he loved and participated in sports and music during his school years. He was self taught on the guitar, he played and sang at many types of functions alone and with the "Country Bumpkins" band.
Until we meet again my friend. I wish I was there for the funeral today.

How Babies are born?

My six year old Jacksen will be turning seven next month, we got in a discussion on how babies were born, I asked him "you were in your mom's stomach and how did you get out?" He said "Dad we went to the hospital and the Doctor cut open mom's stomach and reached inside and pulled me out! and that was how I was born." I could not argue with that and I will let him think that for now. So now you know how babies are born.

Things you never say to your wife?

Temples and Families

I love to see the Temple, I'm going there someday, to feel the holy spirit to listen and to pray. For the temple is a holy place, a place of love and beauty. I'll prepare myself while I am young, this is my sacred duty.
Saturday October 25th I was in the Temple with my Family. Caleb and Braxton who had been recently adopted to us on the 21st of October were sealed to Jessica and I in the Holy Temple. I felt the Holy Ghost and the testimony of the saints that were gathered in that holy spot, a feeling that was undeniable. That feeling testified to me that what I was doing was true and that I was in the house of the Lord. I was glad my other two boys were there to feel of that spirit as well. Trajan said he felt good and Jacksen thought it was a "neet place".
I was glad to have my Mom and Grandparents there. I of course would of liked my Dad and other members of my family there, but that is left for me to hope that someday they will.

.11 Cents!?

What can you buy for .11 Cents? Not Much! You need .12 for a .10 cent candy? So I guess what is the value of .11 cents? To a 6 year old it is worth more than a million bucks! I know it sounds weird but let me explain.
Jacksen is part of the Lost boys club which includes all the boys, except Mom because she is a girl and she was gone. The Lost boys were at Wal-Mart shopping and Jacksen had to buy a water jug so he could water the flowers. Why? I know not? Anyway Jacksen had $1.50 to buy something, he bought the jug and was proudly walking out of Wal-mart with his jug and he had some change left over. (.43 cents to be exact). As the Lost boys and I were walking to the car I looked back and Jacksen was no where to be found. I waited with the other Lost Boys and a few seconds later, here came Jacksen with his Purple Water Jug and his head hung low and a tear in his eye. I said "Jacksen are you okay?" He said "Dad I lost .11 cents" I was thinking in my mind whoopty doo! .11 cents who cares. But I had a rare Father moment and I waited until he stopped crying and then I started the van with Jacksen still crying and I drove over to the sidewalk where Jacksen lost his money. I stopped and I got out with Jacksen and Trajan and we started combing the sidewalk for .11 cents. I found the penny right off and in the darkness I finally spotted the dime. I motioned to Jacksen to come over and claim his Dime. He rushed over and he was the happiest kid on the whole planet. He whoopt and hollered and carried on just as if he found a million dollars. He put his prize in his pocket and we started home, and he said "Dad thanks for stopping!" I guess I learned a "valuable" lesson his .11 cents was worth every penny?
