Autotrader.com

So I work for Autotrader.com! This is a great company! I have been asked several times by friends and family what I do. So now I am going to explain what I do.

I start work around 7 most days and I sit in front of my computer and I start with e-mail, I try to look at five dealer accounts and see what I can do to help those accounts. I then check my fantasy teams, (NBA, Baseball, NCAA). I then help kids go to the dressed and get them to the bus.

As far as work goes, I sell advertising. I go to car dealers from Preston Idaho to Clearfield UT. Those dealers that are not advertising with me, I try to sell them a package to advertise all of their cars. I share stories, facts and numbers to get them to sign up. To advertise with me it is pretty cheap. Packages start as low as $700 a month to advertise up to 25 cars. I have some dealers spending $3500 a month. Current dealers I try to train and help them do good, but I also try to upsell them to a bigger package.

Last month was the month that all my dealers needed to renew their contracts with me. I have 44 accounts and I had to go and get more money from them. I swear I felt like I was trying to get blood from a turnip!!! I had one dealer cancel over a matter of $30.00 He felt Autotrader was to big for there britches! He spends $750 a month and last month he sold 7 cars from me and an average gross of $2000 a car. My Math says he made $14,000 from me. I'll take that bet in Vegas anyday. So he quit and he will be back. It will cost him $100.00 more when he does.

I am very flexible with my schedule and that is what I like about it. Jessica likes that as well. I make a pretty good wage.

Now everyone knows what I do, please comment and follow my links. Autotrader.com averages almost 14 million a month on their site. Pretty crazy huh?

And for anyone reading this, Mitch is an incredible person to have around. He is very self-disciplined. When he first got the job and I knew he was working from home I was nervous wondering if he would really work or just watch movies all day. But he works extremely hard and yet he will drop his work and help me if I need it. He is an awesome dad and he is really having a blast with all the boys getting older and with the extra time his job gives him to spend time with the kids. He is too modest so I just wanted to add my two bits. Thanks for all you do Mitch!
